BRISTOL, Tenn. – Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA) has named Anderson Compounding Pharmacy’s Mark A. Flanary, PharmD, National Compounding Pharmacist of the Month for May 2014.
The award is given monthly to a pharmacist at an independently owned compounding pharmacy who has demonstrated excellent service to patients, health care providers and pharmacy colleagues.
“I am proud and honored to work alongside Mark,” says Cleve Anderson, RPh, owner and chief pharmacist of Anderson Compounding Pharmacy, located at 310 Bluff City Highway in Bristol, Tennessee. “Mark is an integral part of our team, and we are fortunate to have his talent and abilities here.”
Flanary is the second pharmacist at Anderson Compounding Pharmacy to receive this honor. Cleve Anderson received the award in 2008.
Flanary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Milligan College, and received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy at East Tennessee State University in the college's inaugural class in 2010. In the same year, Flanary joined Anderson Compounding as a compounding pharmacist, working in conjunction with providers and patients to create customized medication therapies.
“I am humbled by this prestigious recognition,” says Flanary. “I strive to meet patients’ personalized needs, and the team I work with not only makes that possible, but they also make coming to work each day enjoyable.”
